Welcome to
Monica’s Wreck
Monica is the wreck of a wooden-hulled railway ship carrying tools for a sugar plantation that sank during a hurricane. Like the other wrecks on the ocean floor, it has now become home to many aquatic animals, housing various species of fish and marine animals.
Monica sank about 100 years ago, and the long time on the ocean floor has severely affected parts of the wood, but what she carries – usually metal – can still be seen near the wreck. Parts of a locomotive, train tracks, all of which are a testament to what Monica was carrying a century ago.
